As you're well aware from my previous posts I've been creating mixed media Christmas decorations all summer long and have just finished the last of them: my four mixed media Christmas girl elves.
Unlike the other girl elves Twinkle is on the shy side and is gentle by nature. She doesn't like causing a fuss and just loves to do her job the best way she can. She's eager to learn new techniques and master them and especially loves knowing her creations have brought a smile to the face of any little girl or boy.
Her body is comprised of a paper-clay painted head, wood neck wheel covered by a large scarf, collage decorated Christmas wood block, and collage decorated Christmas papier-mâché box with top. Her entire body is accented with Alene's True Snow for a holiday and snowy effect.
Her face was painted with a combination of acrylic paints and watercolor paints. Modeling paste hair was applied to add texture to her hair and than painted a metallic bronze colored paint.
Her glasses are chipboard that were painted with metallic bronze paint to match her hair.
Her hat is fashioned out of scrapbook collage paper and musical tissue collage paper. A sparkly red pompom adorns the end of her hat and paper triangles adorn the rim of her hat and they are decorated with mixed media paper stickers and word saying stickers. Decorative Christmas ribbon was wrapped around the rim of the hat. Alene's True Snow adds a wintry snow accent.
Her neck consists of a flat wooden wheel that is covered by a large white paper scarf wrapped around her neck and ties in a large bow on the left hand side of her head.
Her body is made from an unfinished wood cube that is covered with scrapbook collage papers and decorative chipboard stickers.
The girl elves bodies are affixed to miniature papier-mâché boxes with tops and have collage scrapbook papers, Christmas mixed media decorations, and snow accents.
I glued the tops of all the papier-mâché boxes to the bottoms of the boxes so they wouldn't move and would be firm enough to hold the weight of the girl elves. Then I painted all the sides and tops and bottoms of the box with green metallic paint. After the paint dried I added Christmas scrapbook collage paper to the sides of the bottom box.
Decorative Christmas ribbon was wrapped around the sides of the top of the box and tied in a bow in the front. Alene's True Snow was added to the top of the box for snowy accents.

I was really pleased with the way Twinkle came out. She is just delightful to look at and so very sweet. You can't help but melt when you look at the expression on her face. At least, I can't help but melt and hope she has that effect on you, too.
