Baby Sister Hits 4 Home Runs With Her Floral Art Entries

My sister and I are alike in so many ways.  We both love to craft but we're individual when it comes to our passions.  I love Victorian dresses, dolls, all crafts but especially mixed media, genealogy, history and silk floral crafts.  My sister loves natural flowers, gardening, fiber arts, spinning yarn, dying yarns, knitting and Nuno felting.

Years ago her love of gardening drove her to join a local gardening club. Being a member meant that you were encouraged to participate in creating entries for the garden clubs competition for the local country fair.

Over the years my sister has entered numerous entries for the fair and has won some of the time and lost some of the time.

Christmas and Winter Santa, Mrs. Claus, Snowman and Snow-lady Ornaments Free E-Patterns

In the middle of the summer it's seems strange to be posting about Christmas and winter decorations you can make.

However, if you're a crafter like I am, you know that the summer is when you start on the Fall, Christmas and winter decorations so you have enough time to make all of them.

Plus, if you're making decorations to give as presents during the holiday season you definitely need time to get them all done.

So, I decided to add 8 free e-patterns for making several of my ornaments or decorations for the Christmas and Winter season.  Four of the free e-patterns below are primitive ornaments for Christmas and four are stand alone snowman and snow-lady decorations for the winter season.

I hope you enjoy making them.

Just click on the picture or name below for the link to the free e-pattern.

Bah! Carols! Harpo Christmas Ornament Caroler Decoration Free E-Pattern

One of my favor activities at Christmas was to go out caroling or to be singing Christmas carols with our church choir.

Even though we're in the middle of the summer Christmas is not to far off in our future I thought you might like to get a jump start on making some new Christmas decorations with a free e-pattern to create a primitive caroler ornament.

"Bah! Carols! Harpo!" really does love to carol. He just pretends he doesn't just to get a laugh from everyone.

He really does love to sing and loves to be out amongst his best friends. Traveling from house to house singing all, their favorite carols.

And, best of all, receiving hot cocoa and roasted chestnuts. Ah, just the thought of the hot cocoa and roasted chestnuts makes his mouth start to water.

Caroling Gertie Christmas Ornament Caroler Decoration Free E-Pattern

I don't have a good singing voice but I still love to sing.  When I was a child one of my favorite activities at Christmas was to go out caroling or singing Christmas carols with our church choir.

So, when designing some new Christmas decorations decades ago I thought about how much I love to go caroling and designed to create some caroler ornaments.

With caroling in mind and Christmas not to far off in our future I thought you might like to get a jump start on making some new Christmas decorations with a free e-pattern to create a primitive caroler ornament.

"Caroling Gertie" just loves to carol. She loves to sing and she loves to be out among her best friends. She loves traveling from house to house singing all, their favorite carols. And, best of all, receiving hot cocoa.

She just loves the hot cocoa. Especially when it's freezing cold outside and her cheeks are bright red. S

She loves caroling so much even the cold can't keep her from singing.

Sissie Snow Gal Snow-lady Winter Seasonal Decoration Free E-Pattern

Sissie Snow Gal definitely agrees with Jerry Snow Guy.  She loves the snow because she's so adventurous but knows the "birdies" need to be taken care of in the winter when it's hard for them to find food.

So, decades ago when I was designing and creating decorations for the winter season I decided a small standing snow-lady and snowman would be adorable decorations.

With Christmas and the winter season not to far off in our future I thought you might like to get a jump start on making some new winter decorations with a free e-pattern to create a small snow-lady decoration.

Sissie Snow Gal can hardly wait for snow.

She is a free-standing snow-lady with a warm & natural cloth body, sock covered wood feet, fabric covered dowel legs, and embroidered face with black eyes. She is wearing cuffed corduroy shorts and a wool shawl. She has a fringed wool scarf red bangs, and cap.

She is holding a “I Love Snow” painted and stenciled wood sign.

"Sissie Snow Gal" is a very adventurous snow gal.

In fact, she is very much a snow tomboy.

She's as brave and as daring as some of her snow buddies.

Sometimes, even she puts them to shame as she's willing to try something they are too afraid of.

They should be called "sissies" not her.

Jerry Snow Guy Winter Seasonal Snowman Decoration Free E-Pattern

When it comes to making sure his "birdie" friends don't get overlooked in the winter you can't have a more loyal friend than Jerry Snow Guy.

So, decades ago when I was designing and creating decorations for the winter season I decided a small standing snowman would be an adorable decoration.

So, with Christmas and the winter season not to far off in our future I thought you might like to get a jump start on making some new winter decorations with a free e-pattern to create a small standing snowman decoration.

Jerry Snow Guy just loves his birds. Whenever "Jerry Snow Guy" goes outside he makes sure that he brings food for all his friends.

After all, wintertime can be a hard time for the birds. It's hard to find food in the frozen ground so Jerry always brings bread crumbs.

His friends all love him for it and voted him "Best Snow Guy" three years in a row.

He is a free-standing snowman with a warm & natural cloth body, sock covered wood feet, fabric covered dowel legs, and embroidered face with black eyes. He is wearing a sweater jumper with pockets and embroidered heart. He has a fringed wool scarf, red bangs, and wool hat.

He is holding a “Don’t Forget the Birds!” painted and stenciled wood birdhouse.

Kathleen Snow Queen Primitive Winter Seasonal Snow-lady Decoration Free E-pattern

You'll find that children love snow, but senior citizens - not so much!

The older I've gotten the more I dislike snow but as a child I loved the winter season, especially when it was snowing as it meant "no school." Yea!

That meant we would be able to have a snow ball fight, create snow angels, and forts at the end of our driveway.

That was always after we shoveled the driveway.  Mind you this was way before snow blowers made it easier for everyone.

So, with Christmas and the winter season not to far off in our future I thought you might like to get a jump start on making some new winter decorations with a free e-pattern to create a free standing primitive terry cloth snow-lady decoration.

"Kathleen Snow Queen" has no problem handling the cold. She is, after all, from a long line of Estonian Snow Queens.

"Kathleen Snow Queen" is very proud of her Estonian heritage. She comes from a long line of "Snow Queens" and is proud to show her genealogy to anyone who asks.

She spends hours and hours searching for her ancestry and has been working on her genealogy project for over 20 years.

If you want to view her genealogy just be sure to reserve have plenty of time - it's a lengthy genealogy spanning back hundreds of years.

She is a free-standing snow-lady with a coffee stained terry cloth square bottom body with an embroidered heart.

She has an embroidered face with black eyes, cinnamon sticks for arms, large fringed flannel scarf wrapped around her head and neck, and fur ear muffs.

She is holding a grapevine heart in one arm and a small “I Love Snow” sign in the other.

Alexander Snow Tsar Primitive Winter Seasonal Snowman Decoration Free E-Pattern

It seems to be the winter storms these days are a lot worse than they were when I was a child.  I might be wrong as my perspective as a child was a lot different than my perspective the older I've gotten.

The older I've gotten the more I dislike snow but as a child I loved the winter season, especially when it was snowing as it meant "no school." Yea!

That meant we would be able to have a snow ball fight, create snow angels, and forts at the end of our driveway.

Alexander Snow Tsar can handle the cold. After all he is from a long line of Russian Tsars. "Alexander Snow Tsar" is also very proud of his Russian heritage.

He, too, is from a long line of Russian Tsars.

He hasn't spend as much time on his genealogy as "Kathleen Snow Queen."

He's working on it slowly but surely - generation by generation.

He is a free-standing snowman with a coffee stained terry cloth square bottom body with pockets. He has an embroidered face with black eyes, cinnamon sticks for arms, fringed flannel scarf and fur hat.

He is carrying one ski and one ski-pole in his pockets.

Call Me Margarita Claus Christmas Primitive Ornament Decoration Free E-Pattern

You can't have a Santa Claus ornament decoration without his partner - Mrs. Claus.  At least in my opinion you can't.

So, even though we're in the middle of the summer Christmas is not to far off in our future.

So,  I thought you might like to get a jump start on making some new Christmas decorations with a free e-pattern to create a primitive Mrs. Claus ornament.

"Call Me Margaretta Claus" and her husband, "Crazy Claus At Your Service!" just love to laugh and love to have fun. They just love to hang out and enjoy the holiday festivities.

Whether it's at your house or at the North Pole, they're comfortable anywhere. Especially "Call Me Margaretta Claus."  She absolutely loves this season and is happy to spread her joy around.

"Call Me Margaretta Claus" is an 8" primitive Mrs. Claus cloth doll ornament She has a muslin body. Her face is embroidered and her cheeks are blushed and rosy. Her red striped boots are cross laced.

Margaretta has a mass of white wool roving hair fashioned in a rolled under style that is nicely covered by her bonnet. Her fringed bloomers are gathered at the waist and knees. Her fringed dress is gathered at the neck and wrists and her fringed apron is tied around her waist and knotted in the back.

"Call Me Margaretta Claus" loves to laugh and can get to laughing so hard that she'll start to cry, too.

She, too gets to laughing so hard she starts to cry and then she can't stop herself. Maybe then things can get a little crazy.

All this laughing and crying and laughing and crying could turn anyone crazy. Whether she's at your house or the North Pole get ready to laugh, and laugh, and laugh.

Crazy Claus At Your Service Christmas Ornament Primitive Decoration Free E-Pattern

I know it's seems like it's way too early to even mention Christmas, but this is the time of the year that crafters get started on their Christmas gifts or decorations.
