I just love unexpected surprises - especially when they take the form of flowers. So, I was surprised and delighted by what I received yesterday. A beautiful bouquet of exceptionally colorful flowers from my baby sister.
We have iris (my favorite flower), yellow roses, pink carnations, mums, and the most unusual dark purple with white border lilacs that I've ever seen. If you look carefully at the picture below you can see the white border around the individual lilac petals. Very pretty indeed.
Now you might be wondering why my baby sister would send me such a beautiful bouquet out of the blue. Well, she wanted to surprise me and thank me for some things I have been doing for her lately. I'd love to tell you what I've been doing, but that's a surprise for now. Suffice it to say it involves blogs, crafts, and websites.
I was going to put my sister's lovely bouquet on my kitchen counter but that spot is currently taken by the beautiful basket of flowers that I received on Mother's Day. Every year I look forward to the flowers that my grandchildren send me and this year the flowers were not only beautiful but exceptional. They were a beautiful array of flowers in a rectangular basket. Very different and very, very nice. And the best part is the most of the flowers are still fresh and beautiful two weeks later.
So now I get to enjoy two beautiful bouquets in my kitchen. I just love delightful surprises. Especially when they take the form of flowers.
